EXCITING NEWS! We start our gardening season with a whole list of lectures and gardening events that are already in the works! The calendar is composed of one lecture and one gardening event per month, starting with February 2025. The idea behind this series is to combine theory and practice. You will quickly notice that a lecture is typically followed by a similar gardening session. With this structure, we hope to give all aspiring gardeners the confidence they seek in taking their first steps, as well as inspire experienced gardeners who may be looking for new ideas for the upcoming season! 24/02 – I want to be a Gardener!
This introductory lecture will cover the basics of starting your very own garden, along with some community gardening principles. We will also cover some gardening fundamentals such as โwhatโ, โwhyโ and โwhenโ, to make sure you are ready to get your hands dirty!
28/02 – Pepper Time!
As a follow-up to the first lecture, we will meet at the greenhouse to dedicate our day to sowing peppers of all shapes and sizes!
25/03 – Flower Power!
Flowers are so much more than decoration. They have flavour, colour and shape and they can be used for a lot of purposes. In this lecture, we will focus on the topic of flower printing and more.
28/03 – Planting Bulbs!
To follow-up on โFlower Powerโ, we will host a flower planting event where we will get together and plant the early bloomers!
16/04 – Here to Stay
Nature is our greatest teacher and it sets great examples for sustainable gardening. Permaculture is a nature-inspired approach to gardening that provides for nature and the people. If youโd like to learn more, this lecture is for you!
28/04 – Spring Fever!
Here come the first large planting event of the season! Itโs time to put what we learned about permaculture into practice. Are you coming?
12/05 – More than Food
In this hands-on lecture, we will be exploring our relationship with food by shaping it into art. Curious? Come see what food means to you.
22/05 – Summer Planting!
Who doesnโt love a warm summer day in the garden? This is the perfect time to transplant our seedlings and plant some more!
